Bamboo poles aren’t made for just bamboo fencing. They aren’t just a construction material. They can also be seen as “decorative bamboo poles,” because they’ll be the accent touch to any room in your home.
How often have you seen the blanket or bathroom DIY accent ladders on your Pinterest dashboard? A lot, huh? This popular DIY project is so simple to make and way cheaper than buying an already made ladder at the store. This simple DIY bamboo ladder is easy to make and won’t break the bank. It offers a modern, chic way to hang blankets, towels, and magazines and it will also serve as a decorative accent for any room in your house. So if you’re looking for a budget-friendly way to add a chic, modern touch to your home then this is the way to go.
Tools you’ll need:
- 1 or 2-inch diameter, 6-feet poles
- 5 small bamboo sticks
- Wood glue
- Wood filler
Step 1: Drill Holes on Bamboo Poles
Decide where you want where you want the rungs of the ladder to be on the bamboo poles. Mark where the holes will be drilled and make sure that each mark is the same size and distance in both poles. We recommend using a tape measure to make sure that the holes are in the same distance on each pole. Use the drill to drill holes in the places where you have marked.
Step 2: Cut and Attach Bamboo Sticks
First, decide how wide you want your ladder to be and cut your bamboo sticks accordingly. We recommend cutting each of your bamboo sticks at approximately 20 inches in length. Assemble the ladder by coating the ends of the bamboo sticks with glue and inserting them into the holes. Fill in the remaining space or gaps of the hole with wood filler.
Let the ladder dry overnight and you’ll be good to go!
If you have any plants in your home, you can place the ladder next to them to continue with the tropical themed décor.
